Coaching Woes: Robert Saleh’s Departure Exposes Jets’ Defensive Free Fall
The New York Jets fired Robert Saleh to provide a spark.
It has done the opposite.
Heading into their bye, the Jets sit at a lowly 3-8 record and haven’t gotten it going anywhere on the field.
Saleh’s bread and butter was the defense. He was replaced by Jeff Ulbrich in the interim role… who was his defense coordinator.
So, who has gotten the job done better? Numbers say Saleh.
After a 2-3 start to the season, Saleh was axed. In those five outings, the Jets had the fifth-best points-per-game allowed in the NFL. Since then, that figure has dropped to 26.2.
Ouch.
Jets defense has fallen off a cliff since the coaching change.
