Practice Boost: 49ers’ Practice to Get a Lift With Dre Greenlaw’s Return, Says Kyle Shanahan
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided injury updates as the team prepares for practice on Wednesday.
The following players will not participate:
LG Aaron Banks (concussion)
DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)
CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee)
DE Nick Bosa (hip/Oblique)
LT Trent Williams (ankle)
RB Christian McCaffrey (rest)
The following group of players will be limited:
QB Brock Purdy (right shoulder)
RG Dominick Puni (shoulder)
LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
Hilariously, after reading all that, Kyle Shanahan said, “That’s it.”
Wide receiver Jacob Cowing is out of the concussion protocol. Shanahan said rookie Ricky Pearsall “did a real good job” against the Green Bay Packers as the punt returner, but Cowing will resume the duties as the starting punt returner now that he’s healthy.
Cornerback Charvarius Ward will also practice in full.
Shanahan confirmed that Lenoir banged knees. Despite him not being able to practice, the team is not ruling Lenoir out for Sunday: “Hopefully, he’ll be able to go tomorrow.”
The team has yet to decide whether Purdy will throw the ball today.
