Breaking: Terrell Owens Words Sparks Firestorm! Legendary WR’s Criticism of Former Teammate Ignites Heated Controversy
Despite winning ten straight games during the 2024 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles have found themselves in the middle of a locker-room controversy. Now, former Eagles teammates Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb have gotten involved.
After defeating the Carolina Panthers 22-16 on Sunday, wide receiver A.J. Brown addressed the media in a postgame interview. When a reporter questioned what the offense could improve on, Brown seemingly called out his own quarterback, Jalen Hurts.
“Passing,” Brown replied.
Even Philadelphia defensive end Brandon Graham, who is out for the rest of the season with a torn tricep, chimed in on the situation, ultimately confirming the tension between Hurts and Brown.
“They were friends, but things have changed,” Graham said.
McNabb, who played for Philadelphia from 1999-2009, also had his input. The former NFL star knows a thing or two about tension in the locker room between quarterback and receiver, with him and Owens butting heads themselves during their two seasons together.
“It’s two grown men,” McNabb said. “If you got an issue, you come to me. Let’s not go through the media… because now it blows up and… now what you said is out there in front of everybody.”
Owens, who helped guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance alongside McNabb, then responded to his former QB for his remarks on the Eagles’ new controversy.
“Now this is interesting is coming from you,” Owens wrote on X. “Not how I interpreted it but funny thing is, I agree with you on the idea of if you have issue with someone that you go to them and not the media but here’s the thing I ‘never’ had an issue with you but it’s known that you had an issue with me so maybe you should’ve taken your advice here. Oh yeh…And we might have won Super 39 but that’s another story for another day… You gave yours, I’m giving mine.”
In his two seasons playing with McNabb, Owens was still as dominant as ever. The former Chattanooga standout recorded 124 catches for 1,963 yards and 20 touchdowns in just 21 games.
However, Owens was suspended by the Eagles for five games during the 2005 season after making comments that McNabb considered “A slap in the face.”
The receiver signed with the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason and continued his stellar play alongside Tony Romo.
