Arsenal ready to gift Mikel Arteta two dream transfers as Jamal Musiala stance revealed
Mikel Arteta will be hoping to return to winning ways when Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. Ange Postecoglou will welcome the Gunners to N17 on Sunday afternoon in what is expected to be a fiery North London Derby.
Unfortunately for Arteta, he’ll be without some key players; Mikel Merino due to injury, Declan Rice due to suspension and, possibly, Martin Odegaard, who picked up a knock during the international break. Meanwhile, the Lilywhites are expected to welcome back some big names.
Arteta eyes next two signings
According to The Times, Mikel Arteta will look to bring a ‘unique’ attacker and a ‘young defensive midfielder’ to Arsenal in the next two transfer windows. Edu welcomed some big names to the Emirates Stadium this summer, tying David Raya down to a long-term contract before signing Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
Then, on deadline day, the Gunners wrapped up deals for Raheem Sterling and Neto. Eager to finally dethrone Manchester City in the Premier League title race, Arteta looks set to welcome a couple of more new faces to London Colney in the coming years.
The Times add that Arsenal pursued Benjamin Sesko, who later decided to stay at RB Leipzig, and Nico Williams, who impressed at Euro 2024, in the summer, but moves failed to materialise. The report states that the north Londoners even looked at Jamal Musiala as Arteta formulates a plan to revitalise his side.
