Jakobi Meyers: The Raiders’ Secret Weapon: Wild Stats Exposes Raiders’ WR’s Incredible Achievement

One of the few bright spots for the Raiders during their abysmal season has been veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Since the departure of Davante Adams, Meyers has become more involved in the offense. Even though Meyers is still the No. 2 target on the offense, his experience has shined through on a bad offense.

Now a new stat revealed by PFF on social media is showing just how reliable he’s been for the Raiders. Meyers is the only player in the NFL with 100+ targets and zero drops this season. That’s right, 100+ targets and zero drops.

Outside of that wild stat, Meyers has managed to be serviceable while playing second fiddle to Raiders’ rookie phenom in Brock Bowers. Through 15 weeks of the season, Meyers has 71 receptions, 802 yards, and two touchdowns.

Although his personal production isn’t reflected on the team’s record, he’s showing why he has staying power in the league. It’s not too bad for a 2019 un-drafted free agent who’s had to fight for every opportunity he gets.

It is also worth noting that whoever ends up at quarterback for the Raiders after the draft or free agency will have two of the more underrated targets in the league to throw to in Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers.
