Breaking: Jalen Hurts NFL’s Latest Fashion Victim: Mismatched Shoes Prove Costly
The ‘No Fun League’ is back at it again. With players being fined for touchdown celebrations and trash talk becoming the new norm, the league’s most recent decision to levy a fine on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has come under fire.
Hurts was fined $5,628 by the Eagles after he wore a pair of mismatched shoes in the team’s Week 15 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He wore a Hulk-green pair of Jordan cleats on his left foot while wearing a teal-colored shoe on his right toe.
It was a harmless style choice, one that the NFL’s official X account seemed to like at the moment. The league posted an image of the quarterback warming up in his mismatched shoes with the caption “The Return of Jalen Two Shoes.”
This was the second time that Hurts wore mismatched shoes, the first time was earlier this year against the Bengals after one of his shoes came off and he used a timeout to put on a different one as there was not enough time on the clock to get the original shoe back.
