Steelers Suffers Triple Blow! Roman Wilson and Two Others Ruled Out vs Ravens
The Pittsburgh Steelers will not be activating rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson from the injured reserve list to play in Saturday’s Wild Card playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers ruled Wilson, linebacker Cole Holcomb and defensive lineman Logan Lee out for Saturday’s game in the club’s injury report on Thursday. Holcomb remains on the physically unable to perform list, while Lee and Wilson are on the injured reserve list. All three players returned to practice on Dec. 31, opening their 21-day practice windows. The Steelers have until Jan. 20, or after the divisional round, before they must make a decision on whether or not to reinstate the three players.
All three players were considered full participants in practice all week, so health-wise, they may be ready to return. Wilson was ruled out in spite of the Steelers releasing slot wide receiver Scotty Miller on Thursday.
Wilson has been out since suffering a hamstring injury in practice in Week 7. He earlier battled a training camp ankle injury, and the two have combined to see him active for just five snaps in his rookie season. The Michigan alum was expected to be a big part of the team’s passing attack when he was selected in the third round, but injuries have prevented that from coming to pass.
Lee, the team’s sixth-round draft pick out of Iowa, suffered a calf injury at the end of the preseason and has been out ever since.
Holcomb has been out since a devastating knee injury suffered last November.
