Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is almost guaranteed to start against Manchester City.

The Gunners travel to the Etihad on Sunday in a game of huge importance. A win for Mikel Arteta’s side will see them go to the top of the Premier League table, but a defeat would create a five-point gap between the two sides.

Saka directly contributed to 25 goals in the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign. In this season, he is already a fifth of the way there.

In just four Premier League games this term, Saka has scored one goal and provided four assists – one in every game so far.

Thierry Henry is the only player in Premier League history to pick up at least one assist in each of his first five games of the season (Squawka).

If Saka gets an assist against Manchester City on Sunday, he will equal the legendary Frenchman’s record. That would be an unbelievable achievement.

Henry achieved his feat in the 2004/05 campaign, when he scored three goals and provided seven assists in the first five league fixtures of the season.

Bukayo Saka has one very important role to fill vs Manchester City

Every Arsenal player needs to be at their best to get a win against Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka will be the Gunners’ main man in attack and he knows what he has to deliver there. However, he has another important role to fill too.

Odegaard is ruled out of the game at the Etihad, just like he was for the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

When Arsenal faced Spurs, Saka was the one giving the team talk before kickoff, even though Jorginho was named as the captain.
