Aaron Rodgers Drops Bombshell on NFL Future: Insiders Reveal Stunning Factors That will Determine His Decision

Aaron Rodgers isn’t ready to say whether he’ll continue on playing football for a 21st season in the NFL.

Heck, he’s not even for sure if the team that currently employs him, the New York Jets, want him back for the 2025 season.

That’s an interesting perspective on a four-time MVP, but Rodgers is 41 years old and he’s coming off one of the worst seasons of his soon-to-be Hall of Fame career.

The Jets are also heading into this NFL offseason looking for a new head coach and general manager. There’s a world in which those two new Jets employees will want to have their own, hand-selected quarterback under center as they look to start another rebuild.

Per Rodgers, those two people will play a huge role in whether or not he returns to the Jets in 2025.

“I think everybody understands that it’s going to come down to a GM and a coach and myself and whether we all want to do a dance together or if it’s not in the cards,” said Rodgers on Tuesday’s edition of “The Pat McAfee Show”.

Of course, there’s a world in which the Jets want to run it back with Rodgers but he decides to retire. He doesn’t know if that will be his ultimately decision yet, though.

As he’s mentioned in past offseasons, he needs some time to mull it over.

“I told them I’m going to take some time,” he said. “They haven’t even made a decision on a GM or a coach yet. Once that happens, then that’ll take us to the next step, which will be a conversation, I’m assuming with whoever that individual is. But this is a time when I’m taking time for my body and my mind to clear things,” Rodgers said.
