Raducanu Reportedly ‘No Longer Has A Porsche’ After Company Took It Back
Emma Raducanu has many lucrative deals off the court, but one of her associates revealed that Porshe took away the car she was using.
It has been over three years since Raducanu stunned the tennis world by storming to the US Open title as an 18-year-old qualifier. She did not drop a single set at Flushing Meadows in 2021.
That achievement led to a sudden increase in media attention. She has often spoken about the challenge of managing enhanced expectations since her US Open success.
Raducanu was financially rewarded for her achievements in New York in 2021. She signed highly lucrative deals with Vodafone, Dior, Evian, and HSBC and became a global brand ambassador for Porsche.
Although earning significant sums of money from those deals was undoubtedly nice, that has not stopped Raducanu from struggling since winning the US Open due to a combination of form issues and injuries.
After returning from nine months out with wrist and ankle injuries at the start of this year, Raducanu’s scheduling decisions, including not playing a match for over three weeks before the US Open, have been criticized.
One well-known fitness trainer called Raducanu’s decisions crazy and mind-boggling and argued that the Briton had too many people around her saying what she wanted to hear rather than what was most helpful.
Raducanu intended to play more matches during the Asian swing. Unfortunately, she was forced to retire after 31 minutes of her Korea Open quarterfinal against Daria Kasatkina, later confirming she had sprained ligaments in her foot.
After being unable to compete at the China Open, Raducanu also withdrew from the Wuhan Open because of that injury. It is unknown whether she will be able to compete again before the end of the season.
Unfortunately, the Daily Mail reports that Raducanu’s difficult spell has gone from bad to worse after a car that Porsche gave her was taken away, as confirmed by one of the player’s associates.
Raducanu is a car enthusiast, and she was thrilled to have a Porsche outside her house. The former US Open winner’s love of Porsches was demonstrated in a video she made for Porsche driving alongside Mark Webber in 2022.
However, a Porsche spokesman said that while Raducanu has been loaned a Porsche in the past, that arrangement is ad hoc and was never permanent.
Mail that the company is known for swiftly taking away vehicles from celebrity ambassadors if it does not feel it is getting value for the substantial money it paid the celebrity.
That means Raducanu’s loss in form since winning the US Open could have played a role, although that has not been confirmed. The Porsche spokesman who confirmed the car arrangement was not permanent said Raducanu was still an ambassador, and the company is happy with her.
