Braves News: NL East, playoffs continue, more
Well we have now reached three consecutive postseasons in which an NL East team has made the wild-card and defeated the division winner in the NLDS. This speaks to both the new expanded postseason format and the strength of the division. MLB certainly got what they wanted with the expended playoffs increasing parity (read as randomness) and decreasing the incentive for teams to build great rather than good teams. Teams that have shown themselves to be better in the regular season are perfectly capable of losing to worse teams in a postseason series. As for the division, it is likely to only get better, as the Mets have a bunch of money coming off the books this offseason, the Braves are built well and likely to add, and the same can be said for the Phillies, with the Nationals growing.

The Mets clinched the series over the Phillies in true NL East fashion, with a Lindor grand slam bringing home the victory.
The Yankees took a 2-1 lead over the Royals in their ALDS series, as a late Stanton homer won the game.
The league’s most fun story, the Tigers, took a 2-1 lead in their own ALCS against the Guardians as they shut out Cleveland.
The Dodgers levelled the series against their division rival Padres, as San Diego pitched Dylan Cease on short rest and LA went with a bullpen game.
