Arsenal suffer ‘injury crisis’ after confirmed Bukayo Saka & Martinelli updates

Arsenal fans believe they are undergoing an “injury crisis” after Sky Sports that Gabriel Martinelli had an MRI scan last night.

The 23-year-old winger is on international duty with Brazil and preparing for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Peru, but he has complained of calf pain.

The severity of the situation remains unclear, but it is another significant blow to Mikel Arteta’s side on the injury front.

The Gunners have already been handed bad news during this international break as Bukayo Saka had to withdraw from England’s camp after limping off the pitch during their 2-1 loss against Greece last Thursday.

The Englishman returned to Arsenal to undergo further assessment on a hamstring issue, while Arteta is still without club captain Martin Odegaard due to an ankle injury he suffered during the previous international break.

Martinelli now appears to be the next injury that Arteta is going to have to deal with as the club prepares to face Bournemouth on Saturday (19 October).

Arsenal fans have been left worried about Gabriel Martinelli’s injury status

The Brazilian has been an integral part of Arteta’s squad so far this season, having played every single Premier League and Champions League fixture.

Martinelli has scored twice and provided two assists, but fans are now concerned he might not be fit for the weekend.
