Dodgers Pitching Shuffle: Right-Hander Named Trade Candidate in Stunning Move
Sometimes, a change of scenery in sports can mean the world to a player. Getting out of a place where the worst days are ahead and going somewhere new can make a world of difference.
Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter has listed 10 players who could use a change of scenery at some point during the season, and on that list was Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller.
Miller had an excellent rookie season in 2023, going 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA across 22 starts. After that season, it seemed that Miller could be a staple in the Dodgers rotation and one of their next young superstars.
His 2024 season, however, was the exact opposite. Miller made just 13 starts, finishing with an ERA of 8.52, and was up and down between the minor and major leagues all season long. What started as a promising and exciting second season for the right-hander turned into a nightmare and disaster season.
Miller made one spring training start in 2025 and could not record an out before being removed from the game. Due to his struggles last year, Miller was optioned to Triple-A to begin the season. Even with injuries to several Dodgers starting pitchers, Miller was still unable to crack the travel roster for the Tokyo Series.
In the best-case scenario, Miller may be traded to another team and have a chance to reset his career. A move to another team could be necessary for Miller to return to the 2023 version of himself.
