Report: Patriots DE Keion White tells the utmost truth about why the defense has played poorly
The New England Patriots have struggles with the run game on both sides of the ball.
But specifically on the defensive side, they were letting the Jacksonville Jaguars run all over them in Sunday’s loss. And Keion White kept it real what’s going wrong.
“I see that we’re not stopping the run. As simple as that,” White said. “You can do whatever, but if you don’t stop the run, it is what it is.”
He was then asked about what the team can do better, but decided to just answer the question as it pertains to him.
“Personally, I think at this point, I’m just going to try and do my job,” he told A to Z Sports. “My job isn’t to figure out as a team what we need to do. My job is to figure out what I need to do.”
So what does he need to do better?
“Hands, maybe? Again, we’re going to review the film and everything like that,” he said. “But apparently we can just important everything because personally, because we aren’t doing it well.”
This Week 7 game at Wembley Stadium was looked at as one of the most winnable for the Patriots based on their schedule.
So to lose in this fashion is devastating. But, the players are still going to show up and be ready to move on the next time they enter Gillette Stadium.
“This is our job,” White explained. “If you’re not doing good in your job, are you going to just be like, forget the job? I feel like at the end of the day, we get paid to do this.
“And at the end of the day, if we just say, f*** it, then somebody else will come in and take our job.”
Based on their current record, the team can only go up from here.
“We’re a 1-6 team. So there’s only room for growth,” White said. “You can either stay the same or improve.”
