“Come on bro, you know where I want to be,” Crosby said recently. “You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s— tatted on my body. I don’t want to go anywhere.”
“Oh no, I want to trade Maxx today,” Davis joked. “It’s unfortunate today, but there’s so much outside chatter that is not true. It’s not coming from any sources. It’s not coming from anything… It’s just not happening.”
But Crosby has done a few things recently that could hint he’d be OK with being traded. First, he made it quite clear he doesn’t want to go through a rebuild, something the Raiders are staring in the face.
“I’m not here to rebuild, I’m here to win,” Crosby said. “So I don’t know, whatever that means. But, I’m here to win now. Wherever I’m gonna be I’m gonna be here to win so that’s all that matters to me.”
Then, on Saturday, Crosby shared a post on Instagram telling him to “come home and win a ring” with the Lions.
Now, there is potentially a bit more smoke to the fire that Crosby could be willing to change his stance on being traded. According to Christian Booher and John Maakaron of Sports illustrated, Crosby has “natural interest” in the Lions.
Now, there is potentially a bit more smoke to the fire that Crosby could be willing to change his stance on being traded. According to Christian Booher and John Maakaron of Sports illustrated, Crosby has “natural interest” in the Lions.
“According to a source with knowledge of the situation, there is natural interest from Crosby’s side in joining the Lions via a trade,” the SI writers wrote.
The report adds that the Raiders would be looking for “not just the proverbial kitchen sink, but rather the ‘whole house'” in a trade for Crosby.
Of course, Booher and Maakaron aren’t the typical trusted reporters like the Adam Schefter’s and Ian Rapoport’s of the world, so taking this one with a grain of salt is the best approach.
But it’s an interesting nugget, nonetheless, and will only fuel the speculation that Crosby could eventually end up in Detroit before the trade deadline hits.
Crosby at least having interest in the Lions would come as no surprise considering they would give him a great shot to win a Super. But even if Crosby is interested in the Lions, he still has to request a trade, and so far there has been nothing to suggest he’s done that, or will do that.
