Breaking: Dallas Cowboys linked to Blockbuster Trade for $24M Star

The Dallas Cowboys offense has struggled early and often in 2024. The team is 3-3 with no wins at home. They could look to make a trade before the November 5 deadline to get back on track.

The Cowboys rushing attack has been subpar. FanSided’s Colton Edwards named them as a potential landing spot for James Conner of the Arizona Cardinals.

“The Dallas Cowboys are likely the only team in the NFL with their biggest need being the running back position,” wrote Edwards. “Acquiring a running back of Connor’s caliber who can handle a heavy workload and be a three-down back could help out Dak Prescott.”

The Cowboys rank last in rushing yards, yards per carry and rushing touchdowns. They are the only team in the National Football League without a run of more than 20-plus yards. To say they need a running back is an understatement. The lack of a running game is having an effect on the offense as a whole as other teams can just worry about the passing game.

Conner is a two-time Pro Bowler and signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Cardinals before the 2022 season. With his age, the Cardinals’ record and contract status, the team could move him.

“The Cardinals are currently 3-4 but lack the firepower to contend for a playoff spot,” wrote Edwards. “With the addition of Trey Benson in the draft, they may consider trading Conner as they continue to rebuild. Conner is set to become a free agent after 2024, and at 29 years old, it makes sense for the team to move on.”
