Green Bay Releases Thursday Practice Report, Offers Clarity on Quay Walker and Christian Watson
The Green Bay Packers released their second practice report for their Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and there are injury updates on linebacker Quay Walker and wide receiver Christian Watson. Both players were limited participants in practice, meaning there’s a good chance they will play on Sunday. Walker is dealing with a concussion, while Watson is dealing with an ankle injury.
Walker and Watson aren’t the only two Packers on the practice report as cornerback Jaire Alexander was limited in practice on Thursday with a groin injury. Additionally, defensive lineman Kenny Clark was limited because he had an injured toe. The rest of the report includes CB Corey Ballentine (ankle, did not participate), OL Elgton Jenkins (glute, limited participation), OL Josh Meyers (wrist, limited), CB Keisean Nixon (hamstring, limited), WR Jayden Reed (ankle, limited), DL Colby Wooden (knee, full participation) and DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle, limited).
Walker was diagnosed with a concussion after the Packers’ win over the Texans on Sunday. Through seven games, Walker has recorded 52 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Watson suffered an ankle injury last month and continues to play. In six games, Watson has caught nine passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
The Packers are off to a strong start to the 2024 season, winning their last three games to improve their record to 5-2. And while the Packers look poised to make a deep run in the playoffs, they need to keep playing well since they are in third place in the NFC North.
Packers bring in Robert Saleh to help with the offense
To give the Packers offense a boost, head coach Matt LaFleur brought in former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh. “I think that’s always a good deal to have the perspective, that defensive perspective on that side of the ball,” LaFleur said, per Packers.com. “So, (he’s) just taking a look at some of the things we’re doing.
“It’s a good opportunity for him to learn and also for him to help us and give us perspective on how teams might see us, how they might defend us.”
