Breaking: Yankees Likely to Sign Dodgers’Top Pitcher

The New York Yankees enter an offseason with most of the attention surrounding the Juan Soto sweepstakes, but there are other needs that must be addressed.

While Soto remains the team’s top priority, the Yankees could look to bolster the starting rotation behind Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon.

As Cole returns on the remaining four-year, $144 million contract after initially opting out, the Yankees have the foundation built in the starting rotation. Adding viable depth behind him is key for another World Series run.

One name they had interest in at the trade deadline was right-hander Jack Flaherty. A preliminary deal was in place before the Yankees balked at his medical history, which led to him going to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
