Dodgers make bold move: LA reaches out to Yankees superstar about…..

The Los Angeles Dodgers clearly have the best roster in baseball after winning the World Series this fall over the New York Yankees.

While this is the case, the World Series may have given the Dodgers a perfect opportunity to get a close look at a future Los Angeles superstar.

The Dodgers clearly are built to win for the foreseeable future with superstars like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman in town. But, the Dodgers don’t seem like they are slowing down.

The top free agent who will be available this winter is Yankees star Juan Soto, and the Dodgers are already one of seven teams who have called about a deal, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

“Seven teams that have called on Juan Soto are known, and while one is a major surprise — the homeless-at-the-moment Tampa Bay Rays — the other six are all major-market teams that have big payrolls and presumably a much better shot than the surprising Rays,” Heyman said. “For now, Tampa has to be viewed as a distant seventh on the list, as it’s hard to imagine them competing with the biggest markets in baseball, starting with both New York teams but not nearly ending there.

“Dodgers: They play for almost every superstar who comes free, so it’s no surprise they’re interested. But does Soto want to go back west?”

If the Dodgers somehow could land Soto, it would be a shock. He’s expected to get a deal in the range of $600 or $700 million and the Dodgers already have a massively expensive roster. Soto would be a fantastic pickup but a move just seems unlikely.
