Aidan O’Conell: The Leader Raider Nation Has Been Waiting For: Raiders’ QB Unveils New Side of Himself, Leaving Fans in Awe

The Las Vegas Raiders obviously need a quarterback. They need a guy to lead this franchise in a positive direction and turn around the misfortunes they have had for way too long. And, they may have blown that last week with their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. They started with possession of the No. 1 pick before the game and fell to the No. 6 pick after the game.

The Raiders will now likely have to hope someone above them loses, or they will have to trade up and hope that the player they want falls to them. And, that’s if they lose their next two games against the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders have the potential to still land a top-three pick, but it seems unlikely at this point. And, they chose to win and feel a bit better about themselves rather than just lose and get a better pick. But hey, it’s not my team I’m running, they seem to think they know what they’re doing.

They also have two weeks left to see exactly what Aidan O’Connell will be. If they don’t get a QB this offseason, O’Connell will remain the guy. If they do, can he be a glorified backup QB? Either way, we have been seeing a side of the guy that we have never really seen.

Raiders Aidan O’Connell in a different mood

He seems to be in his “I don’t care” mood. He doesn’t care about the criticism, the media, the fans talking about him. We haven’t really seen that from him, and it fits him well.

“Yeah, I don’t read anything, so I don’t really hear it. I think ignorance is definitely bliss and that’s how I’m rolling,” Starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell said recently.

That’s kind of the same attitude that this fan base has. They don’t care what you or anyone else thinks. That’s what being a Raider is and what being a Raider means, and O’Connell, during his weird two seasons here, has really embraced that.

And, I think fans will appreciate that side of him. Hopefully, we see a little bit of that edge to his game on Sunday, too. We already saw it a bit against the Jaguars, where he let one of his teammates know, or maybe it was a staff member, that they did something wrong as he was yelling at the sideline.
