ANTHONY DAVIS SHUTS DOWN LUKA DONCIC TRADE RUMORS ONCE AND FOR ALL! Davis Sends Clear Message to Worried Mavericks Fans

Anthony Davis has done his best to try to keep Dallas Mavericks fans from jumping ship.

The Mavericks’ season from hell has been well documented at this point. The vast majority of the fan base wants Mavs general manager Nico Harrison fired for trading Luka Doncic. An already disastrous month since said Doncic deal got even worse when Kyrie Irving tore his ACL on Monday, ruling the All-Star guard out for this season and likely part of the next.

Davis, who got injured himself just one game into his Mavericks career, tried to stay upbeat during a recent interview on MavsTV. He was asked about the stellar debut he was having before getting hurt, which included a brief moment when he tried to tell Mavs fans, “I’m here.”

“I know the city was down because of the Luka thing,” Davis said of the moment. “At the same time, I know who I am as a player. I’m top 75 of all time, and I just wanted to let the Dallas fans know like, ‘Hey, I got y’all, I’m here now.’ So, like, I know you lost a superstar in Luka, but you also gain a superstar like myself.”

Davis piled on 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks in a 116-107 Mavericks win over the Houston Rockets on Feb. 8. He has yet to play since then.

While Davis sounded like a man ready to take on the burden of turning the Mavericks’ fortunes around, a report emerged earlier this week indicating otherwise. There have been rumblings that Davis’ debut game in a Mavericks uniform could possibly be his last.
