Bad Break: Raiders’ Defensive Star, Maxx Croby Faces…

The Las Vegas Raiders are on a bye week this week, but even then, one of their star players is still being hit with the bad that happened last weekend.

The Raiders played the Cincinnati Bengals last week, and the Kansas City Chiefs before that. When they played the Chiefs, none of their star players walked away with bad news. After the Bengals game, Maxx Crosby now has bad news.

According to Tom Pelissero, Crosby was fined a hefty amount of money for something he really shouldn’t have done. But you could argue that the refs didn’t help him much.

On a play that saw Crosby sack Joe Burrow, but after the “whistle,” which fans are claiming wasn’t really loud enough for anyone to hear, Crosby was fined. The fine was for unnecessary roughness, and Crosby will lose $11,255.

These fines are getting excessive. I get that they have to protect the players that are important to this league, the guys that bring in money because of their name, like Burrow, but that is a wild amount of money. Should he be fined? Probably. But this is a lot of money for something he genuinely didn’t mean to do.

This is not the news Crosby wanted to hear on his off week.

The Raiders will play the Miami Dolphins next, before they play the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Atlanta Falcons to start a tough stretch of their schedule.
