Breaking: Davante Adams Drops Aaron Rodgers Bombshell: Jet Star’s Surprise Message Fuels Controversy
No one knows what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers, including perhaps even the four-time MVP himself.
The quarterback has one year remaining on his contract in New York and retiring would mean leaving millions on the table. However, it is unclear whether Jets owner Woody Johnson wants Rodgers back at all.
If he doesn’t, Johnson will likely attempt to trade Rodgers before ultimately cutting him if there are no takers, which there probably wouldn’t be because of how much cheaper it signing the QB will be after his release.
New York traded for superstar wide receiver Davante Adams mid-season in an attempt to bolster the team, which indicated that the front office continued to believe in Rodgers even after a slow start.
While New York’s feelings may have changed in the weeks since, Adams maintains faith both in Rodgers’ ability to play at a high level and his commitment to the Jets organization.
The wideout indicated as much when he said it would be “a little bit of a surprise” were Rodgers to exit the organization and/or the NFL entirely after struggling through a difficult 2024 campaign.
“It’s been an interesting year, obviously seeing what he’s battled through and hearing the people jump out of nowhere saying that he doesn’t have it anymore,” Adams said, per SNY, following New York’s win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. “Obviously, that’s not the case.”
Rodgers, who turned 41 years old in early December, finished the season with 3,623 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with a completion rate of 63%.
