The Los Angeles Rams got back to .500 with a 21-14 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 13 to stay firmly in the NFC West playoff race.
It took the Rams offense a while to get going as they did not score any points in the first half. That changed in the third quarter when Kyren Williams rushed for his 12th touchdown of the season to put L.A. on the board.
Matthew Stafford completed 14 of his 24 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Those were caught by Demarcus Robinson and Puka Nacua, who always seem to rise to the occasion for the Rams.
Cooper Kupp had a quiet day, catching only three of his six targets for 17 yards. However, he still managed to make NFL history by surpassing Keenan Allen for the most receptions in a player’s first 100 games.
Kupp’s career with the Rams began when the team selected him out Eastern Washington in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
He caught 145 of his 625 receptions during the 2021 NFL season in what was one of the greatest campaigns ever for a wide receiver. Kupp was named the AP Offensive Player of the Year and helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.
Now in his eighth season with the team, Kupp is still as productive as ever. He has caught 58 of his 83 targets for 565 yards and five touchdowns in just eight games.
The 31-year-old missed four games due to a high ankle sprain, but has shown no signs of being slowed down by the injury since returning to the lineup in Week 7.
With five games remaining on the Rams’ regular-season schedule, Kupp will have plenty of chances to add to his totals and potentially reach 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his career.
