Breaking: Kyle Hamilton Gets a New Partner in Crime: Ravens Set to Sign High-Priced Raiders’ Defender

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a disappointing 15-9 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15, as Antonio Pierce’s squad fell flat at home and dropped to 2-12 on the year. The Raiders have lost ten consecutive games after a 2-2 start, with their last win coming in Week 4 versus the Cleveland Browns.

Though Las Vegas has had an abysmal 2024 campaign, there have been some bright spots, including safety Tre’von Moehrig. The 25-year-old is having another solid season and has been one of the most reliable players on the team this year.

Moehrig has started all 14 games for the Raiders this season and has snagged two interceptions along with an exceptional 84.9 run defense grade. The former TCU standout has also totaled 24 defensive stops and 86 tackles.

Moehrig’s impressive play in 2024 will land him a sizeable contract in free agency this offseason, and Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine predicts the young safety will sign with the Baltimore Ravens in 2025 free agency.

Though Kyle Hamilton is one of the most talented defensive players in football, the All-Pro safety desperately needs a dependable running mate. Baltimore has started Marcus Williams and Ar’Darius Washington at free safety this season, and both have been uninspiring.

Pairing Hamilton with Moehrig would be a savvy move from general manager Eric DeCosta, as the Ravens would immediately form one of the best and most versatile safety duos in the NFL. Hamilton’s combination of size and speed, paired with Moehrig’s physicality and coverage abilities, would be a fantastic combination in the backend for Baltimore.

The Raiders would be foolish not to re-sign Moehrig, as the 2021 second-round pick is one of the lone playmakers on the team’s defense, but if the rising star hits free agency this offseason, the Ravens would be an intriguing landing spot for Tre’von Moehrig.
