Mark Cuban reveals Nico Harrison conversation
Mark Cuban spoke to Stephen A. Smith about the Luka Doncic trade. He noted that everything Nico Harrison has said in public aligns with his version of events.
He added that while he didn’t agree with the decision, the addition of Anthony Davis has transformed the team. Cuban revealed that he didn’t get much input from Harrison, but did thank him for the call.
“I’ve heard what Nico said publicly and privately, and that aligns. Nico decided defenses win championships. And he thought Anthony Davis would be a better anchor for our defense.”
“The truth is between AD, Dereck Lively, and Daniel Gafford, that’s the best big three in the NBA. But Luka Doncic is a generational talent, and while there’s an argument to be made, and I understand where Nico’s coming from, it’s just not the same decision I would have made.”
On finding out…. “I was like, ‘you’re asking me right, this isn’t done,’ and he said, ‘no it’s done,’ and I was like, ‘OK… nothing more to talk about, I wouldn’t have done this, and thank you for giving me the call.’”
Luka Doncic thriving with Lakers
While the trade initially caught him off guard, Luka Doncic has adapted to life with the Los Angeles Lakers quite well.
Lakers fans have embraced the superstar. And while there have been some struggles on the court, Doncic is clearly happy playing in Los Angeles.
Since joining the Lakers, he has been averaging 27.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. The hope is that his form gets even better heading into the playoffs.
