BREAKING NEWS: Los Angeles Rams Land Another Cornerback for a Third Year With the Team He Signed With in 2022 Transfer Released Him.

The Los Angeles Rams have re-signed cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Witherspoon is set to return for his third season with the Rams, having originally joined the team in 2022 after being released by the Steelers.

Last season, Witherspoon appeared in 13 games for the Rams, recording one interception and nine pass deflections. Despite being frequently targeted by opposing teams, he showcased his playmaking ability and proved to be a reliable presence in the secondary.
Over his two seasons with Los Angeles, Witherspoon has totaled 23 pass deflections and four interceptions, solidifying his role as a dependable contributor to the defense.
Before joining the Rams, Witherspoon spent two seasons (2021-2022) with Pittsburgh after being acquired from the Seattle Seahawks. Though he initially struggled to fit into Pete Carroll’s system in Seattle, he found success with the Steelers, recording three interceptions in three starts and earning a two-year contract.

However, injuries derailed his second year in Pittsburgh, as a lingering hamstring issue limited him to just four games and led to two stints on injured reserve. He finished the season with one interception before being released.

Originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 out of Colorado, Witherspoon spent his first four NFL seasons in San Francisco before moving on to other teams.
