Breaking: Orioles Propose Mega Deal: Top Young Talents For Established All-Star

The Baltimore Orioles were swept by the Kansas City Royals in the American League Wild Card. They will need to be active in the offseason to get back in the postseason and make a deeper run.

When outlining potential trades for Luis Robert Jr., FanSided’s Zach Pressnell proposed this trade that brings Robert to Baltimore from the Chicago White Sox:

  • Orioles receive: outfielder Luis Robert Jr.
  • White Sox receive: outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr., right-handed pitcher Juan Nuñez and outfielder Jud Fabian

“Robert would be expensive, but adding his combination of power and speed to the Orioles lineup would be exactly the top-of-the-lineup production that this team needs,” wrote Pressnell.

Bradfield, Nuñez and Fabian are the Orioles No. 4, No. 8 and No. 11 prospects respectively, according to MLB Pipeline. All Three provide a unique skill set for a team in a rebuild. However, Bradfield has the potential to be a star.

“Bradfield is a top-five prospect in the Baltimore organization for a reason. He’s a legit 80-grade runner that has the potential to lead baseball in stolen bases when he makes it to the big leagues,” wrote Pressnell. “He slashed .272/.358/.371 in just over 100 games split between High-A and Double-A last season.”

Nuñez had a 2.45 ERA in seven games in High-A last season. Fabian hit 20 home runs across Double-A and Triple-A.

Robert signed a six-year, $50 million extension before making his Major League Baseball debut. He was named an All-Star in 2023. His years remaining on his current deal make him an expensive trade target.
