Breaking: Raiders’ Coach Antonio Pierce Refuses to Make Obvious Change Despite Fans’ Pleas
The Las Vegas Raiders are now starting to look like one of the worst teams in the NFL, if not the worst team, after losing to the Los Angeles Rams, who previously claimed that title, and the Carolina Panthers, who hold the title as maybe the absolute worst team.
And that’s okay—no fan in this fan base expected a Super Bowl trophy this year. But they did expect improvement, and it looks like the Raiders have taken a few steps back, actually. Sure, there is still hope. Who knows, maybe they could win out the rest of their games, and the Kansas City Chiefs could lose a handful of those they happen to play this weekend and again in a few weeks.
But, instead of doing this same thing the team does every single year, the fan base is begging them to do just one thing. Just tank, get that high pick, get your quarterback of the future, and officially start the rebuild.
Antonio Pierce isn’t hearing any of that.
“We’re not tanking. We’re not trying to lose games to do anything better for the future. Hell, we’re trying to be the best team we can and right now, we’re not a good team,” Pierce said on Monday after the 20-15 loss to the Rams.
Here’s the deal — I said what if they win out, but I think we all know that definitely will not happen. They have a very tough schedule left, against teams like the Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and others, who are all great this year.
So, at what point does Pierce start looking at his team and finally admit that it’s time to start prepping for the draft? To me, and the rest of the fan base, that needs to be right now. But, we all know it won’t be.
