Breaking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Responds to Warriors Draymond Green’s Promise

Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green appeared on TNT during All-Star weekend, and he had a lot to say.

Of course, Green began by giving his honest thoughts of the All-Star game’s new format, which he was not a fan of. He was not happy that the NBA allowed the Rising Stars winners to compete as the third team in the All-Star game’s mini tournament.

While Green complained about the new All-Star game format, he also made a bold prediction about the Warriors’ season later in broadcast. He said that the addition of Jimmy Butler has completely changed the team. Of course, the Warriors landed Butler from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline after he had demanded a trade from Miami earlier in the season.

Green then went on to guarantee that the Warriors are going to win the championship after adding Butler. He also said that none of the top teams in the Western Conference scares Golden State. That includes the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently hold the best record in the NBA.

After the All-Star game, Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave his thoughts on Green’s bold prediction.

“I’d expect him to say that being on the Golden State Warriors and playing basketball for them,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “I would hope he wouldn’t say they’d lose. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.”

Shai’s statements are right as no player would ever say that their team is going to lose, but Green’s prediction is interesting. Golden State currently sits 10th in the West standings with a 28-27 record and are holding onto the final Play-In spot over the Phoenix Suns by one and a half games.

The Warriors have been better of late with the addition of Butler and of course Stephen Curry having another incredible season, but they still have a ton of work to do to become a true championship contender. There are also many teams standing in their way, including Shai and Oklahoma City, who currently look like the team to beat in the West.
