Chiefs’ Brutal Schedule Sparks Controversy: Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at Odds Over…
While some NFL players aren’t looking forward to having to play on Christmas this year, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is embracing it.
Despite the tough stretch of games for Kansas City in December, Kelce admitted on his “New Heights” podcast that he’s happy any time he gets to put on his pads and that he’s excited for Netflix’s holiday slate.
“I’m excited man, I’m excited. The body’s, um, not as excited to get out there and try and run a route and get the gameplan together during practice,” Travis began. “But I’ll play whenever, man. I’ll play whenever, wherever.
just know I’m just so fortunate to play this game,” the future Hall of Famer said. “I’m gonna cherish every time I get to play on the field. I’m not gonna harp on that schedule that was given to us.”
The Chiefs play the Texans on Saturday before a quick turnaround against the Pittsburgh Steelers four days later.
That can be taxing, especially on a 35-year-old veteran, but Kelce’s team is still vying for a No. 1 seed and he’s ready to meet the moment.
“I accept that challenge,” Kelce stated. “I think it’s gonna make it feel that much better if we get out of this three-game stretch with three wins and make us feel a little bit more confident that we can get after it against some of the best teams in the AFC week, to week, to week.”
It’s possible that Travis’ pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift, also makes an appearance at Arrowhead for the special occasion.
Especially now that her worldwide Eras Tour has wrapped after 21 months and over $2 billion in ticket sales.
