Colts Front Office Delivers on Fans’ Demands: Huge Offseason Move Unveiled
It would be an understatement to say that Indianapolis Colts fans were angered by owner Jim Irsay’s decision to retain both general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen.
Fans might not have gotten all the changes they wanted, but they only had to wait one extra day to get the news many had been begging for all season long.
The team officially announced on Monday that it was parting ways with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, just one day after its 2024 season ended with its Week 18 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Colts hired Bradley ahead of the 2022 season, where he worked under Frank Reich, who was the team’s head coach at the time. Bradley stayed on staff after the team moved off of Reich and was retained when the team hired Shane Steichen to be their new head coach ahead of the 2023 season.

The Colts will now begin their process of finding a new DC. Which will give Steichen the chance to hire his own for the first time. Fans hope for a drastic change in the team’s defensive philosophy. Even before they announce their hire, once their full list of candidates is shown, we should have a decent idea of how far the team is willing to branch away from the style of defense they’ve grown accustomed to during Ballards eight seasons with the team.
