Dodgers Eyeing the Best: LA Pursuing Top Free Agent Slugger with…

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to add another big bat to the middle of the lineup.

Throughout the offseason so far, it has seemed like a reunion with Teoscar Hernández was the most likely option. That still seems to be the case but the two sides still haven’t come together on a deal yet. It’s somewhat surprising as Hernández has made it very clear that he wants to return.

Even if he doesn’t, though, the Dodgers are hoping to add a bat no matter what. One player who is “on the table” for Los Angeles is former Baltimore Orioles slugger Anthony Santander, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

“The Dodgers seek one more big bat, and most likely in the outfield since the plan is for Mookie Betts to return to his preferred shortstop,” Heyman said. “In addition to Teoscar Hernández, Anthony Santander and a trade for Seiya Suzuki are on the table.”

Santander would be a great fit after clubbing 44 home runs and driving in 102 runs in 2025. While this is the case, he will be expensive. Heyman also noted that he is hoping to “crack $100 million” in free agency.

If that is the case, he will end up being much more expensive than Hernández but he is younger and did have a better 2024 season. It’s a tough one, but no matter what happens don’t be shocked if the Dodgers make another big splash in the not-so-distant future.
