Dominant Display: Micah Parson’s Match His Actions After Latest…

There’s no denying the Dallas Cowboys are playing better on defense ever since superstar defensive end Micah Parsons returned to the field in Week 10 after missing all of October due to injury.

Since then, his mere presence on the defensive line has unleashed the Cowboys’ pass rush as defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has been able to exploit opponents’ lines by lining up Parsons everywhere along the line of scrimmage, including at defensive tackle.

He’s also been able to run more effective blitzes, using the focus on Parsons to his advantage and freeing up free rushers elsewhere. Donovan Wilson and DeMarvion Overshown have been examples of this in recent weeks.

Since returning from injury, Parsons has recorded 5.5 sacks in four games, along with 23 pressures, per Pro Football Focus, which also credits him for seven sacks in that span (they track them differently than the traditional method).

Simply put, Parsons has elevated the Cowboys since returning, and earlier this week, he made sure to send a message on social media to his detractors, who constantly criticize the fact that he hosts a podcast on a weekly basis.

“Almost like I can play football and operate a podcast?!,” posted Parsons on Twitter/X while sharing his remarkable stats.

To be honest, those who have been paying attention have known this for quite a while. Hosting a podcast has kept Parsons in more headlines than fans would like him to be on, but it has made no impact whatsoever on his level of play despite accusations of it being a distraction.

It makes sense, too. It’s not like Parsons is spending the entire week preparing the show while missing practice or something. The guy is doing it early in the week before Wednesday practices, the most important day in the NFL as teams go through the walkthrough for the upcoming game.

Arguing that it keeps him from doing his job is quite frankly impossible to justify with facts. And the evidence speaks for itself, as Parsons has said with his on-field performance much before posting his message on social media.
