Emotional Reunion: Chubb Seeks Redemption Against Steelers After Brutal Injury

The Cleveland Browns will look to shock one of their division rivals with an upset when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

While the Browns’ chances of making the playoffs at 2-8 are very slim, they still have an opportunity to play spoiler against a rival that currently sits at the top of the AFC North.

The primetime matchup will also have some more intrigue, as it marks the first time that star running back Nick Chubb has faced the Steelers since he suffered his season-ending knee injury against them in 2023.

When he was asked if he was approaching the game on Thursday any differently due to the circumstances, Chubb was confident in his response.

“It’s just the same normal game for me,” said Chubb. “Pushing the same way and looking forward to going out there and playing against a great team. That’s just who I am. I mean it’s a football game. I got to go out there and play, so no matter who we’re playing or what we’re up against, I’m always in the same mindset.”

Teammate Myles Garrett also spoke about Chubb’s emotions throughout the week, and echoed his sentiment.

“Nick’s not very emotional in general,” Garrett said. “He keeps that same calm and solemn demeanor, so when he gets out there it could be different. But right now he’s cool as a cucumber as he always is.”

As Garrett said, Chubb may not be emotional heading into the game, but things may drastically change when he actually takes the field against Pittsburgh on Thursday.
