Falcons Fired Up: Justin Simmons Emotional Speech in…
The Denver Broncos are facing the Atlanta Falcons as we speak, and before the game, things got weird.
Let’s start with the fact that one of the more beloved Denver Broncos players of the last 10 years, maybe the most loved, is on the other side of the field for the Falcons. Safety Justin Simmons, maybe the best safety in franchise history outside of Steve Atwater.
He was let go by the Broncos, as they decided to make P.J. Locke the guy at the position for what they thought would be much cheaper. So, Simmons remained on the safety market for some time, until the Falcons finally signed him a month ago.
On Sunday, Simmons was back at Mile High Stadium for the first time since he was last a Bronco. And, he shared some words for his team before they took the field, in front of his former home crowd.
First, he was asked, “Are you going to get a pick today?”
“I need one,” he responded.
Then, after he gathered up his teammates, he told them what should happen.
“In front of their home crowd, F-ck ‘Em!!”
Of course, every Broncos fan still wants to see Simmons do well, but if that means beating the Broncos, it’s a no-go. Luckily, running back Javonte Williams took Simmons with him all the way to the end zone for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Hopefully he doesn’t get an interception.
