Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes History: Unprecedented Feat Since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may not receive the kind of national media attention that he used to receive, but he is still one of the best players in the NBA.
On Saturday night against the Miami Heat, Antetokounmpo was able to lead the Bucks to a huge overtime win. As Milwaukee continues to battle for playoff positioning, every game is extremely important and the “Greek Freak” clearly knows it.
He scored 36 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 10 assists in the win, shooting 13-for-21 from the floor.
Behind his big night and another big game in the Bucks’ previous win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Antetokounmpo accomplished something that hasn’t been done since 1968.
As shared by StatMamba on X , Antetokounmpo has scored 72 points, grabbed 32 rebounds, and dished out 30 assists in his last two games. He is the first player to have 70/30/30 in any two-game span since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968.
That is an impressive accomplishment. It truly puts into perspective how dominant Antetokounmpo has been over the last two games as he wills his team towards the playoffs.
On the season, Antetokounmpo has averaged 30.4 points per game to go along with 11.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks. He has also shot 60.2% from the floor.
With Damian Lillard off the court due to blood clot issues, Antetokounmpo is shouldering a huge load. Not only has he been able to pick up the slack, but he is putting up historical numbers along the way.
