Golfing for a Purpose: Mookie Betts, Chris Taylor Takes Part in…

The eighth annual Justin Turner Golf Classic at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., is taking place on Monday after the event was rained out earlier this year.

“It’s that time of year again where we put on our biggest fundraiser,” Turner said in a statement.

“This is definitely one of my favorite days on the calendar. We love to be able to bring together so many of our loyal supporters at one of the most premier gold courses in South California. It’s the perfect combination to raise funds to directly impact people in need right here in Los Angeles.”

Justin Turner and his wife Kourtney, who is vice president of the Justin Turner Foundation, are hosting another sold-out event that’s long been a draw for former and current Los Angeles Dodgers teammates, in addition to celebrities and other professional athletes.

Mookie Betts, Tony Gonsolin, Chris Taylor, Jonny DeLuca, Nomar Garciaparra, Jerry Hairston Jr., John Hartung, Eric Karros, James Loney, Ryan Pepiot, Corey Seager and Chris Woodward are among those scheduled to participate.

Pepiot sunk the first hole-in-one in Justin Turner Golf Classic history last year.

Lakers champion Byron Scott and two-time Olympic gold medalist soccer player Mia Hamm also are due to play in the tournament.

“We are overjoyed to be hosting our 8th annual JT Golf Classic,” Kourtney said. “We are so blown away by the support from our sponsors, participants and volunteers.

“The event is our largest fundraiser of the year and it is always so incredible to see it all come together. It’s the perfect way to kickoff the new year and another season of serving the community.”

Justin Turner Golf Classic kickoff party

Prior to the golfers teeing off, the Justin Turner Foundation is hosting a private party on Sunday.

All proceeds from the official Kickoff Party and eighth annual Justin Turner Golf Classic go toward the Justin Turner Foundation.
