Haslem’s Explosives: Former Champion Drops a Bombshell Knicks Take, Hinting at a Shocking Playoff Upset That Will Rock the NBA World

The New York Knicks are the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference and widely expected to make a deep playoff run this season, barring any serious injuries. After the team traded for Karl-Anthony Towns, they were expected to be among the favorites, but have been unable to keep up with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics so far.

With Mikal Bridges taking time to start producing after joining the Knicks and a few injury pains across the season, the team has made it’s way to a 43-24 record. They look set to enter the playoffs as the third seed, which at the moment would see them matched up against the Detroit Pistons. And Udonis Haslem thinks this could be a problem for them.

“I’m not going to talk about the second round, we gon’ talk about first round,” Udonis Haslem said on NBA Today. “First things first, this is championship expectations. You bring KAT in… You do that because you wanna win a championship.

“I like those thundercats out of Detroit. I’m looking at that matchup and they are ready for this matchup. They are excited for this matchup. Those guys are ready. I’m looking at Detroit and I’m saying this could be a first round exit for New York.”

That is a bold statement from Haslem, the former Miami Heat veteran, although he did also point to Jalen Brunson’s health as being a major factor. Brunson is set to be out till early April with an ankle injury he picked up against the Lakers, and it could certainly be a problem for the Knicks in the playoffs.

Whatever the situation is, a first-round exit will not be acceptable as a result for the current iteration of the New York Knicks. The team will be hoping they can get healthy and make Haslem eat his words when the time comes.
