Speaking with a Japanese reporter recently, Yuki talked about how he and Ja Morant have developed their friendship. The smallest player on the Grizzlies views Morant as a role model, someone who has taken him under his wing. He said,
“Ja Morant is like my big brother. He teaches me basketball skills and English. Well, sometimes, he teaches me bad slang. I am not sure if you can use this, but things like type sh*t.”’
It is interesting to see the bond between these two develop. Ja is one of the most recognizable superstars in the NBA. He is famous for his insane dunks and highlights. Yuki, on the other hand, is a Japanese player and the smallest point guard in the NBA. But he has also brought so much joy and attention to the team. “I love it. She brings the energy to every G League game and NBA game. We couldn’t win for her tonight. I was disappointed in the result. She’s my goat. Kaari is my goat.”
