Jalen Brunson Takes The Spotlight! Knicks Point Guard Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week
New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson had a tremendous week. His performance led to him being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He averaged 29.3 points per game, 5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists over New York’s three games last week. Brunson’s great play led to success on the court as the New York Knicks went 3-0.
Brunson came up clutch last week for the Knicks as they squeaked past the Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Miami Heat. The star point guard was especially clutch yesterday in New York’s 116-112 win in Miami. He scored 26 of his 31 points in the second quarter and OT as New York came from behind. He is putting together another stellar regular season. He is eighth in the league in points per game and assists. Will Brunson be able to keep up his level of play as New York looks to climb the Eastern Conference standings?

New York has had a strong regular season. They are 40-20 and the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. New York’s offense has been strong this regular season. They are fifth in points per game, third in field goal percentage, and sixth in three-point percentage.
The team’s defense has been mediocre this season. They are 14th in points allowed, 24th in opposing field goal percentage, and are tied for the worst team in the league at defending the three-pointer. It is uncommon for Head Coach Tom Thibodeau’s teams to struggle so much on the defensive end. New York’s great offense coupled with a poor defense has them with the sixth-best point differential in the NBA.
