Jefferson’s Impressive Streak: 5 Consecutive 1,000-Yard Seasons
Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson made more history on Sunday in his team’s 23-22 comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The 25-year-old wide receiver finished with seven catches for 99 yards, moving his total for the season to 1,038 receiving yards.
He’s now just the fourth player in NFL history to rack up at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first five seasons in the league, joining Randy Moss, A.J. Green and Mike Evans.
Additionally, his 460 catches moved him up to sixth all-time in Vikings franchise history, surpassing tight end Kyle Rudolph, whom Jefferson was tied with coming into Sunday. The only players to have more catches with the Vikings are:
WR Cris Carter — 1,004
WR Randy Moss — 587
WR Adam Thielen — 534
TE Steve Jordan — 498
WR Anthony Carter — 478
Jefferson is averaging 5.67 catches per game this season, and with five games left in the regular-season, he’s on pace to fall two catches shy of Jordan.
The superstar has, of course, already set numerous records throughout his short career and continues to rewrite history. He’s still extending his own NFL record for receiving yards in his first five seasons, a record he broke just two weeks ago.
With his talent, the records should continue to come fast and furious.
