Jets Nation Rejoices: Woody Johnson’s Statement on Darren Mougey’s Hiring Excites Fanbase

The New York Jets have officially tabbed Darren Mougey as their next general manager.

Mougey was reportedly the choice, but the Jets made us wait a bit to announce the move. It has now happened.

Mougey, 39, was previously the assistant general manager of the Denver Broncos. He will now team up with head coach Aaron Glenn in an effort to turn the fortunes around for Gang Green.

Following the update, Jets owner Woody Johnson released a statement on Mougey being hired.

“Darren is a trusted NFL executive who has experience working with an impressive collection of football leaders,” Jets Chairman Woody Johnson said. “He is a proven talent evaluator who impressed us with his vision for this team. His partnership with Coach Glenn will revitalize this organization. I am proud of the thorough search we undertook and that it led us to the two best individuals to lead our football team going forward.”
