King James Breaks the Internet: LeBron’s 1 Mins Post Goes Viral
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had some fun while celebrating his latest NBA milestone.
For those who missed it, James made history on Thursday night after helping the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings, 113-100. The superstar forward recorded 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists in 34 minutes of playing time.
With his latest outing, James officially surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most minutes played in the regular season. Abdul-Jabbar played 57,446 minutes in his 20-year NBA career, while James now has 57,471 minutes following the Kings game.
A day after making NBA history, James took to social media to commemorate the achievement. However, in his latest post, the Lakers forward couldn’t help but poke fun at himself and how long he has been playing.
James posted a photo of himself recreating the iconic Wilt Chamberlain pose from his 100-point game. He was also holding a paper that reads “1 Billion mins.”
“Last night became the NBA All-Time Leader in Minutes!” James wrote in the caption of his post. “Crazy to even think about! Very thankful and blessed! Been a helluva ride. 1 million minutes Wilt style!”
His humor aside, and the mistakes in the number (million and billion), several fans made sure to praise LeBron James and congratulate him for his achievement.
“CONGRATS KING,” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “that’s crazy work.”
“Exceeded expectations Champ,” a supporter added.
“Goat,” a follower shared, referring to the acronym for “Greatest Of All Time.”
“We throwing a party for this one,” a fifth fan noted.
James’ latest feat is not only proof of his longevity, but it also speaks volumes about his sustained dominance. He has been in the NBA for 22 years now, and he continues to play significant minutes even in his age-39 season.
