Arsenal fans all saying the same thing about David Raya after Man City, they make one huge claim
Arsenal produced a monumental defensive effort in the second half against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
As Leandro Trossard was sent off on the stroke of half-time, with Arsenal 2-1 up, Mikel Arteta’s side faced 45 minutes of trying to hold Manchester City at bay with just ten men.
The North London club produced a valiant effort. The reigning champions rained attack after attack on the Arsenal goal, it was not until the 98th minute, at the very end of stoppage time, that they saw their net breached.
After a scramble at the death, John Stones jabbed the ball home, breaking the Gunners’ resistance.
However, Arteta will still be proud of his side’s performance, particularly in the second half as they put up such a magnificent defensive effort for so long.
The likes of Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, Ben White, Jakub Kiwior, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhaes all played a part in seeing the visitors solid.
However, goalkeeper David Raya was still called upon on numerous occasions and made several impressive saves.
Raya has been in excellent form of late, and carried that confidence into this fixture.

Despite the final result of this match, plenty of Arsenal fans on X were keen to give Raya credit for his efforts.

Arsenal have a new hero in David Raya
Raya came in for criticism from Arsenal fans at times last season.
However, he has now truly grown into his role with the Gunners and looks like an established and confident presence between the sticks.
Raya is an authoritative presence in the team, and clearly has the trust of Arteta and his colleagues.
It is now vital that he is able to remain fit and in form for the rest of the campaign.
