Arsenal fans rage at David Raya as Tottenham tunnel footage emerges

Arsenal fans have been left raging at David Raya after footage emerged from the tunnel ahead of the North London derby v Tottenham.

Mikel Arteta led his side to a confident 1-0 victory away from home despite missing key players Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard thanks in large part to their imperious defensive unit.

It was Gabriel Magalhaes who popped up with a towering header to win the game, while his partner William Saliba was rock solid to prevent any slip-ups.

Raya also played his part in what was an impressive display from the Gunners, but his actions prior to kick-off have not gone down well with the supporters.

The goalkeeper was filmed embracing Tottenham star and Spain international teammate Pedro Porro as the two seemed to enjoy a catch-up in the tunnel before the game.

With tensions heightened in the buildup to the North London derby, fans of both clubs could not believe what they were seeing from their players.

The animosity between fans had been building all week, but seeing the players being friendly rather than sharing in the spirit of the game left them raging.

Arsenal fans tear into David Raya as ‘disgusting’ Tottenham footage drops

Along with the globalisation of football, incidents such as this have become far more common, with international teammates and friends facing off at club level, and it may be unrealistic to expect them to ignore each other.

However, fans harked back to the days of the likes of Gary Neville ignoring his former teammate Peter Schmeichel when facing Manchester City – a similar situation to this.

After the footage quickly went viral on social media, fans insisted that “football as we knew it is dead”, as they fumed at their goalkeeper.
