Havertz handed new job
Arsenal’s in-form forward Kai Havertz has been named as Germany’s vice captain after completing a dramatic turnaround. Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann announced his decision earlier this week.
Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been named as his nation’s captain, with Havertz’s ex-Chelsea teammate Antonio Rudiger also claiming a role as a vice-captain. Explaining his decision, Nagelsmann said: “The captain places the team’s opinion with the coaching team. He [Kimmich] was the logical successor. He leads the way with his mentality.
