Arsenal player ratings so far in 2024/25 as three players shine but one seriously disappoints
We are into the second international break of the 2023/24 season, and Arsenal remain unbeaten in all competitions.
The Gunners have won seven and drawn three of their first 10 games. That is a great record, especially considering how many injuries Mikel Arteta has had to deal with so far.
A lot of the season is still left to be played, but we have seen enough from most players in the first 10 games to judge how they have fared so far this term.
Some Arsenal players have been phenomenal, but there are a few who need to step up and do better.
Arsenal player ratings so far in 2024/25
David Raya: 9.5/10
David Raya has been unbelievable for Arsenal this season. The Spaniard is arguably the biggest reason why the Gunners are unbeaten – he has saved them numerous times already.
Neto: N/A
Neto hasn’t played a single minute since joining Arsenal.
Jack Porter: 6/10
Jack Porter broke many records when he made his Arsenal debut against Bolton in the EFL Cup. He had a decent game in goal.
Ben White: 7/10
Ben White played the first six games of the season for Arsenal but has missed the last four due to injury. He clearly wasn’t at his best in the games he played, but he wasn’t bad either. We hope he recovers well and is back soon.
Jurrien Timber: 8.5/10
Jurrien Timber played the first eight games of the season and was terrific. He did a magnificent job in both full-back positions and barely put a foot wrong. He has missed the last two games due to injury.
Takehiro Tomiyasu: N/A
Takehiro Tomiyasu has played just six minutes of football this season.
Josh Nichols: 6.5/10
Josh Nichols made his senior debut for Arsenal against Bolton in the EFL Cup. He had a very good game at right-back and has a bright future ahead of him.
William Saliba: 8.5/10
William Saliba, once again, has had a brilliant start to the season at Arsenal. The Frenchman is calm at the back, is never fazed and almost never makes any mistakes.
Gabriel Magalhaes: 9/10
Gabriel Magalhaes has been just as good at the back as Saliba, but the Brazilian gets extra points for his brilliance at the other end of the pitch. Goals in back-to-back games against Tottenham and Manchester City is a fantastic achievement.
Jakub Kiwior: 6.5/10
Jakub Kiwior has made just four appearances this season, three of them came as a substitute. He has done well when called upon and should be happy with his contribution.
Maldini Kacurri: 6/10
Maldini Kacurri was given 20 minutes against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup and he did well. He has a great future ahead of him.
Riccardo Calafiori: 8.5/10
Riccardo Calafiori has been an incredible signing for Arsenal. The Italian has made the left-back position his own in recent games, and he has been outstanding there. We can’t wait to see more of him.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: 5/10
Oleksandr Zinchenko has played just two games for Arsenal this season. He did a decent job on both occasions but has been out injured since.
Kieran Tierney: N/A
Kieran Tierney hasn’t played a minute of football at Arsenal this season.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: 7/10
Myles Lewis-Skelly is one of Arsenal’s most talented young players, and he has looked really good in the first team too. He was outstanding against Bolton and held his own against Manchester City as well.
Jorginho: 7/10
Jorginho has only made four appearances for Arsenal this season and he has done a decent job. He produced a solid display against Tottenham in Rice’s absence.
Declan Rice: 8/10
Declan Rice hasn’t been setting the stage on fire, but he has produced solid performances every time he has played. Some fans may disagree with our rating for Rice, but we think he has been good.
Thomas Partey: 7.5/10
Thomas Partey took a few games to reach his peak fitness level. There were a few shaky moments early on, but he has been solid in the last few games.
Mikel Merino: 5/10
Mikel Merino has missed most of the season due to injury. He has made two appearances so far and has done a decent job on both occasions.
Martin Odegaard: 6.5/10
Martin Odegaard has also been injured for most of this season. He has played just three times and was very good in the first two fixtures.
Ethan Nwaneri: 7.5/10
Ethan Nwaneri has made three senior appearances for Arsenal so far this season and he has been very good. His performance against Bolton was fabulous – he scored twice and was among the best players on the pitch.
Leandro Trossard: 8/10
Leandro Trossard had a mixed start to the season, but since Odegaard suffered his injury and was sidelined, the Belgian has been brilliant. We think he’s much better centrally than out wide.
Gabriel Martinelli: 7.5/10
Gabriel Martinelli had a slow start to the season, but he has gotten better and better over the last month. He is getting back to his best and we expect him to become a key player for Arsenal in the coming weeks.
Kai Havertz: 9.5/10
Kai Havertz has been outstanding for Arsenal this season. The German is the top scorer with six goals in 10 games and he has been one of the club’s best players.
Bukayo Saka: 9.5/10
Along with Raya and Havertz, Bukayo Saka has been Arsenal’s best player this season. He has been unbelievable on the right flank and has already directly contributed to 10 goals. What a player!
Raheem Sterling: 6/10
Raheem Sterling has played five games for Arsenal, two of which have come from the start. One of those was against Bolton and he scored and picked up an assist. He hasn’t done too much wrong, but we would like to see more of him in the coming months.
Gabriel Jesus: 4/10
We were really excited about Gabriel Jesus this term after how good he looked in pre-season. An injury troubled him again, but even when he has been fit, Jesus has been disappointing. He needs to do better.
Ismail Kabia: N/A
Ismail Kabia came on for the last nine minutes of the game against Bolton. He didn’t have much to do but didn’t make any mistakes either. Another youngster with a bright future ahead of him.
