Arsenal shirt numbers available to Raheem Sterling as iconic option free amid transfer rumours
Arsenal could be set for a busy end to the summer transfer window, with plenty of twists and turns expected before it slams shut this week.
The Gunners have already strengthened their backline, adding Riccardo Calafiori to the team for the Premier League campaign ahead.
Mikel Merino is expected to be the next Arsenal signing.
with the midfielder readying a switch from Real Sociedad.
Beyond those two arrivals, there is space for some new signings in the forward ranks, following some departures.
Emile Smith Rowe made his way to Fulham earlier in the market, while Eddie Nketiah is set to join Crystal Palace.
That leaves open the possibility of another player for those attacking positions, with Raheem Sterling among those linked with a transfer to Arsenal.
The England international is claimed to be free to leave Chelsea this summer, opening up the possibility of a move.
Raheem Sterling shirt number options at Arsenal
Raheem Sterling has several iconic shirt number options at Arsenal, should he join this summer, but he won’t be able to land one of his favourites.
The winger was the number seven at Chelsea before he was stripped of that option, which was given to new signing Pedro Neto.
Unfortunately for the forward, that option is currently occupied by Bukayo Saka, who is unlikely to relinquish that number.
Sterling has also previously worn the number 11, 17 and 31 – though those are also occupied.
There are some iconic options though, such as the number ten shirt, which is vacant after Smith Rowe’s exit this summer.
13 is also free, but beyond that, most of the numbers are taken by players currently within the squad.
Currently available squad numbers at Arsenal: Ten, 13, 16, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34-40, 42-99.
