There continues to be speculation about the future of Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah, with the goalkeeper looking likely to leave on loan, while Nketiah is subject to an offer worth £25million-plus from Crystal Palace. But overseas sides are still believed to be interested in the striker.

Merino message after Arsenal transfer

Mikel Merino has spoken for the first time since having his summer transfer to Arsenal from Real Sociedad confirmed. Having chased his signature intensely over the last eight weeks, the Gunners have finally wrapped a deal believed to be in the region of £27.4million (€32.5m) plus £4.2million (€5m) in add-ons.

After signing all the necessary documents and completing medical tests, Arsenal announced the signing of the Spain international on Tuesday afternoon. Fresh off penning a four-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months, Merino spoke to his teammates after being welcomed to the club by Arteta.
